Welcome to my personal site! I am Daniel Pérez-Parra, Postdoctoral Researcher at the French National Research Institute for Sustainable Development (IRD), based at Université Paris-Dauphine (LEDa-DIAL) and Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne (CES). I completed my PhD in Economics at the Université Gustave Eiffel (Érudite) in 2026.
My research interests lie in development economics and applied microeconomics, with a particular focus on education and gender in West Africa. My work examines two main areas: the expansion of secondary education and the erosion of harmful social norms. Using geospatial data and causal inference methods, I study how public policies and institutional changes affect educational outcomes, gender norms, and practices such as female genital cutting.
